And sometimes our chows turn the table on us. I took this photo right after I got a new cell phone in December 2007 while Chelsea (who was 15 years old chow), my husband and I were on a trip to San Diego. I thought the photo was just perfect, especially because she had just been groomed the day before and had a bow and a Christmas bandana on (both insulting to her chow dignity but she was grateful they weren't antlers). It actually took a couple minutes to get her to pose just right and smile for the camera. It wasn't until the next day that I realized that she played a trick on me (as you can see from her tongue). Chows have such a wonderful sense of humor. This was a very special day for us--the weather was beautiful, it was a few days before Christmas and we had just enjoyed a wonderful brunch at the very dog friendly Loews Coronado Resort. This photo is very special for me now because we had to say goodbye to her four weeks later.
What a wonderful photo and story to go with it!! Bless Chelsea's heart!! 15 years old..my goodness, you must cherish this photo and miss her terribly. Thank you so much for sharing !!!!! Sandra
